Welcome to the Gaming blog!
OK gamers. Starting in October 2007, the Brook Hollow Branch Library will be doing gaming with various Playstation 2 games. This program will depend heavily on your feedback and suggestions on how to improve the program, and what games to play. Right now, the intial gaming events will be:
October 15th, 7-8pm- Guitar Hero
November 19th, 7-8pm- DDR (Dance Dance Revolution)
December 17th, 7-8pm- Karaoke Revolution
All events will be on Monday nights. If some gamers come to the events and more frequent events are requested, we will do twice a month starting in 2008. Also, if needed, we can make the events two hours long- again, this depends on demand.
The main things I want to know from y'all are:
What games do you prefer to play? When recommending games, try to stay away from M- rated games, as those will not be an option for the program. T-rated games should be OK. Also keep in mind that once we get going, the gaming program will be more of a competition between regular participants, with cumulative score-based rankings, and prizes for the top participants. In Guitar Hero and DDR, for example, everyone could play the same one or two songs at the same difficulty level, and the highest score wins. Whoever takes first would get 100 points, second gets 50 points, third gets 25 points, fourth gets 10 points, fifth gets 5 points (that is not necessarily the scoring system we would use, but we'll use something like it). For a sports game like Madden or NBA Live, we would have a bracket-style tournament.
Also, with games like DDR, Guitar Hero, etc. I would appreciate if gamers brought their memory cards to the events. That way we could get the most unlocked songs, characters, and other content.
So, give me some ideas. This program is yours, and your opinion does matter! Click the"comments" link below this post, and let me know what you think!
